Travel And Tour, offers you the most important places where to make your excursions to Trapani in the province and throughout Sicily. If you stop at the town and its historic center, the city of TRAPANI is not very large. It ´a citizen-friendly town full of beauty and not at all dispersed. To travel and visit it does not take long. But there are so many wonders and pearls that surround it throughout its perimentro and embellish it.
Our Excursions in the province of Trapani and throughout the Sicilian territory, have a lot to see, show and "taste", a mix of culture between mountains and sea.
We start from the east and from the nearest ERICE, an ancient medieval village that rises 756 meters above sea level and will guarantee you a unique view of Trapani nestled with its typical sickle shape on the sea and the Egadi islands to frame a breathtaking sunset! The beautiful medieval town ERICE can be reached by TRAPANI by car or by cableway that connects the city with the top of the mountain on whose summit lies ERICE. The journey is by car and by cable car is very beautiful as you can enjoy the spectacular view of the city of Trapani, Egadi islands, including salt, the whole coast, both the Tyrrhenian and the Mediterranean, in fact in the extreme tip of Trapani it is the union of the two seas, Tirreno and Mediterraneo from the unique scenery. ERICE is a beautiful medieval city, its absolutely essential visit on a trip to Sicily. Located on Mount San Giuliano, it takes its name from a mythological character, Erix, son of the Goddess Venus, to whom a temple was dedicated on the top of the mountain.
To the west, our most precious pearls, the LevanzoEgadi islands.Levanzo,Favignana and Marettimo.
It is impossible to recommend one of our Excursions, all of which have aspects to discover, peculiar and convincing reasons to be visited, words are not enough to describe the places.
Forward to the land, to the east again, a few km away we will find the enchanting Archaeological Park of SEGESTA for a dip in history and landscapes steeped in Mediterranean.
To the north east, only 36 kilometers away is San Vito Lo Capo, a town famous for its white sandy beach and turquoise waters that fall in love with everyone. Along the coast to reach it we will find Custonaci, Macari and just beyond the Zingaro Reserve and Scopello, Guidaloca and the Faraglioni.
Going south, we will come across the cities of Marsala and Mazara Del Vallo. Famous for both wine and fish, protagonists of important historical events both, are full of experiences to try and suggestive views. Mazara del Vallo holds in its historical center an arabeggiante heart, multiethnic and full of colors, with the famous Dancing Satyr.
Continuing south we arrive in the Valle del Belice, its villages and finally in Selinunte, Valley of the Temples, an ancient Greek city of which traces remain evident today. There is in fact an archaeological park of 40 hectares waiting for us.
The farthest island of Pantelleria is also part of the Province. Of volcanic origins it is an island of uncontaminated beauty and most famous especially for its passito and capers. The Saline Nature Reserve of Trapani and Paceco are located just outside the city and are characterized by lagoons and marshes, which consist of shallow water, ranging from 50 cm to 2 meters where salt has been extracted for more than 2000 years. The main activity in the lagoons was and still remains the extraction of salt: with a fairly simple method, the water conveyed in special tanks is left to evaporate until only the salt is left which is then removed and ammonized covering it with clay tiles with a structure that looks like the roof of a house. The mills that serve for pumping water characterize this landscape, in addition to flamingos and herons that stop here during their migration to and from Africa, we also find the Salt Museum, where it is possible to visit it.
Among our most frequent excursions to Trapani we mention: Erice, Segesta, Selinunte, San Vito Lo Capo, Riserva dello Zingaro, Scopello, Eastern Reserve Monte Cofano, Mangiapane Caves, Saline di Trapani and the Salt Museum, Isola di Mothia and Stagnone di Marsala Ettore Infersa, Mazara Del Vallo, Valley of the Temples Agrigento, Scala Dei Turchi in Realmonte, Palermo Monreale.
